The Gaumukh Tapovan Trek is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand within the Gangotri National Park. The trek begins from Gangotri and leads to Gaumukh Glacier and Tapovan.
The trek is considered Moderate to Difficult due to its high altitude, long trekking days, glacial terrain, river crossings, and steep ascent to Tapovan.

Yes. Since the trek reaches an altitude of around 4,463 m (14,640 ft) some trekkers may experience mild symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Proper acclimatization, hydration, and a gradual ascent help minimize the risk.
Mobile connectivity is generally available in Gangotri. Beyond Gangotri, network coverage is extremely limited or unavailable throughout most of the trek.
Accommodation is provided in guesthouses at Gangotri (where applicable) and comfortable twin or triple-sharing tents at designated campsites during the trek. Sleeping bags and sleeping mats are also provided.
Trekkers are served freshly prepared vegetarian meals, including breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. Hot tea, coffee, and soup are also served to keep trekkers energized during the expedition.
